Meyerton Primary School offers and maintains a consistently high standard of education, sport and spiritual guidance.  This enables our learners to form solid basic foundations and life skills which further assist in stimulating growth and well-being, directly resulting in a positive influence in their future years of education.  However in order to achieve this, strong ties must be forged between school and home, so that parent, educator and learner work as a team.

Our 3 Phases

Foundation Phase

The Foundation Phase has the exciting and rewarding task of teaching children the foundations of reading, writing and literacy. The foundation phase specialists also help the children to develop their thinking and fine motor skills. This is where the development begins.

Intermediate Phase (Grades 4-6)

Grade Four is the first year of the Intermediate Phase and is a giant leap from the Foundation Phase. There is a shift in the number of subjects from four, in Grade Three, to six in Grade Four. These six subjects are carried through to Grade 6. Focus is given to the identification and building on, of the academic strengths of the child in more specific learning areas.

Senior Phase

Grade 7 is the first year in the Senior Phase where learners now have 9 subjects. The Senior Phase forms the basis of subject choices that will lead them into respective career choices through exposure explored in the various subjects. This phase promotes learners’ social, emotional, intellectual and physical development to prepare them for High School.
